Luca's banknote

Making Money

Today I read making money.
Below is my $40 banknote that I made.
It has a white heron, its serial number, holograms on the right hand side and the value on both sides.

  1. Hi Luca
It looks like you have mastered Google draw. I like how you have included holograms. I think a $40 would be a very handy thing. It's colour is also very distinctive. What made you decide on the amount of $40? (Instead of $25 or $30).

    1. Hi Jackie, thank you. I decided on a $40 banknote because most of my purchases are over $35.

  3. That is a great bank note Luca. I really like how you put a white heron on it. I saw a white heron (Kōtuku) at the lake where I live the other day. It was very beautiful. Where have you seen a live Kōtuku before?

    1. Hi Mrs King, I have never been so lucky to see a live heron before.
I have only seen a heron on a picture.

  4. Hi Luca, I agree, a $40 note would be very handy. Have tou thought of making any other notes? We have a Kotuku thet flys over our neighbours house on a regular basis. I know that if you have a gold fish pond in your backyard you have to keep them covered as Kotuku like eating goldfish!...maybe the neighbours have one? Have you seen them out at Lake Minahupa?

  5. Hi Luca,
I love the colours you have used on your banknote. The shade of blue you have used is one of my favourite colours. When I go to school in the mornings I often see a white heron in the drain at the bottom of my driveway. It must be used to me now as it takes quite a while to fly over away over the paddocks across the road.
The book you read about 'making money' sounds interesting. What do you learn about how this happens? Do you know what the names of the birds on other New Zealand banknotes?
Looking forward to you letting me know!
    Mrs Phelps
